Megan Rietema Named MIAA Specialty Player of the Week For 11th Time in Career

ROYAL OAK, Mich.  The Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association has named Calvin setter Megan Rietema its Specialty Player of the Week in volleyball for matches played through October 6. Rietema, a senior from Grand Rapids (GR Christian HS), dished out 111 assists (11.1 per set) and added 26 digs and 17 kills for the week as the Knights remained unbeaten with three straight victories. She had 10 kills, 42 assists, nine digs and three blocks in a four-set win over Albion, and had 36 assists and eight digs in a sweep of Kalamazoo. Rietema is being honored for the third time this season and 11th time in her career. Calvin will travel to Olivet on Wednesday for a 6:30 p.m. match and will then host the Midwest Challenge on Friday and Saturday which will feature several nationally-ranked teams.
