For the first time in his collegiate career, Calvin College junior forward Kurt Van Sickel has received MIAA Offensive Player of the Week honors in men’s soccer.

A native of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, Van Sickel scored four goals this past weekend as the nationally-ranked Calvin men’s soccer team rolled to a pair of victories at a weekend tournament hosted by Wittenberg, Ohio.

A graduate of Trinity Christian High School (PA), Van Sickel scored two goals in a 3-0 victory over Otterbein, Ohio, and added two more as Calvin defeated the host Tigers, 8-0.

The pair of victories bumped Calvin’s win streak to four games as the Knights are currently 5-1-0 overall. Ranked 25th in the most recent D3soccer.com Top 25 poll, Calvin returns to action on Wednesday when it plays host to Alma at 4:00 p.m. in the conference opener for both teams.

The Calvin/Alma match will be aired via Stretch Internet Broadcast and feature a live stats scoreboard Calvin Live Stats Scoreboard
