Johnson Cochran Named MIAA Men’s Swimmer of the Week

ROYAL OAK, Mich. – The Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association has named Calvin’s Johnson Cochran and Kalamazoo’s Lauren Seroka as its Athletes of the Week in swimming and diving for meets through November 3.

Men’s Swimming and Diving Athlete of the Week

Cochran, a freshman from Mount Vernon, Ohio (Mount Vernon HS), took first place in both breaststroke events as the Knights defeated Wheaton, Ill., 163-117, in a nonleague dual meet. He won the 100-yard breaststroke in :58.23 and 200 breaststroke in 2:11.1, with both times ranking at the top of the MIAA early in the season. Cochran is being honored as Athlete of the Week for the first time in his career.
