Dan Kerr and Jodi Hoekstra Receive MIAA Runner of the Week Honors

ROYAL OAK, Mich. – The Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association has named Calvin’s Dan Kerr and Jodi Hoekstra its Runners of the Week in cross country for meets through October 29.
Men’s Cross Country
Kerr, a senior from Petoskey (Petoskey HS), captured first place at Saturday’s MIAA championship meet by more than six seconds with a time of 24:52.2, leading the Knights to their 25th straight MIAA championship and clinching conference Most Valuable Runner honors in the process.
Women’s Cross Country
Hoekstra, a senior from Homer Glen, Ill. (Chicago Christian HS), won the MIAA championship race for the second consecutive year to clinch conference Most Valuable Runner honors. Hoekstra finished nearly 30 seconds ahead of her nearest challenger with a time of 21:42.5.
