Counsell & Kaufman Claim Honorable Mention All-America Berths at NCAAs

KNOXVILLE, TN - The Calvin women’s swimming and diving team broke into the team standings Friday night with a pair of honorable mention All-America performances at the NCAA III Championships at the University of Tennessee. Freshman Elise Kaufman took 13th (383.70) in the women’s one-meter diving competition while sophomore
Elizabeth Counsell was 16th in the 100 breaststroke (1:04.85). The pair of honorable mention All-America berths gives Calvin five points in the team standings—good for 47th place with one day of competition left. Counsell will compete in the women’s 200 breaststroke Saturday while freshman Andy Krafft will compete in the men’s three-meter diving competition.
