Carolyn Nelson Named MIAA Specialty Player of the Week in Volleyball

For the first time in her career, Calvin College junior setter Carolyn Nelson has been named the MIAA’s Volleyball Specialty Player of the Week.
A native of Milan (Mich.) and a graduate of Milan High School, Nelson dished out 67 assists (11.2 per set) in directing the Knights’ offense in three-set sweeps of Albion and Kalamazoo. Nelson also totaled eight digs in the two matches. Nelson is currently averaging 9.65 assists-per-set.
Ranked 12th in the latest AVCA Division III Top 25 poll, Calvin returns to action on Wednesday when it journeys to Trine for a 6:30 p.m. conference match. The Knights are currently 5-1 overall and 2-0 in the MIAA.
