Carlia Canto Claims Medalist Honors at North Central College Classic - Calvin Ties For Sixth as Team

NAPERVILLE, IL - The Calvin women’s golf team finished tied for sixth in a 13-team field at the North Central College Classic Tuesday afternoon with a team score of 375 strokes.
Calvin sophomore Carlia Canto (Marysville/Port Huron Northern HS) led all golfers by earning medalist honors with a round of 83. Next for Calvin were freshman Laura Richert (Fort Gratiot/Port Huron Northern HS) with a 96 and junior Elise Doezema (Grand Rapids/Grand Rapids Christian HS) with a 97. Freshman Jaclyn Richert (Fort Gratiot/Port Huron Northern HS) rounded out Calvin’s finishers with a 99.
Calvin will compete at the Olivet Invitational Friday and Saturday at the Medalist Golf Club with Friday’s competition slated to start at 2 p.m.
