Calvin’s Travis Vegter Named MIAA Offensive Player of the Week in Men’s Soccer

ROYAL OAK, Mich.  – The Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association has named Calvin forward Travis Vegter its Offensive Player of the Week in men’s soccer for games played through Sept. 8. Vegter, a junior from Hudsonville (Unity Christian HS), earned tournament Most Valuable Player honors for the Knights at a tournament hosted by Milwaukee School of Engineering. He scored both of Calvin’s goals in a 3-2 loss to Loras, Iowa. Vegter is being honored as Player of the Week for the second time in his career. Vegter currently leads the Knights in scoring with five goals. The Knights are back in action on September 17 when they host rival Hope at 4:30 p.m. at Calvin’s Zuidema Field.
