The Calvin men’s and women’s track and field teams have again achieved academic and athletic excellence.

For the 10th straight year, the Calvin women’s track and field team has received the all-academic team award from the United States Track and Field Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA). The Calvin men’s track and field team has also received the award for the second straight year.

Teams were eligible for the honor if they recorded a minimum 3.00 (4.00 scale) cumulative grade point average as a group. The Calvin women’s track and field team posted a 3.46 cumulative grade point average while the Calvin men’s track and field team recorded a 3.18 cumulative team grade point average.

Both teams were led by first-year head coach Bret Otte and captured their respective MIAA titles this past spring.

The Calvin women’s track and field team also had 10 individuals receive all-academic honors from the USTFCCCA while the Calvin men’s track and field team had three individuals receive the honor.
