Calvin will serve as host of the two-day MIAA Women’s Golf Tournament this Friday and Saturday at the Bedford Valley Country Club in Battle Creek. The tournament will include an 18-hole round on Friday and an 18-hole round on Saturday. Friday’s action will begin at 1 p.m. with Saturday’s round set for 9 a.m. The two weekend rounds will count on the cumulative stroke total in the overall MIAA standings both individually and as a team.
Hope enters the weekend with a 15-stroke lead over Olivet in the overall team standings while defending MIAA champion Saint Mary’s is third and Calvin fourth. Individually, Lauren Campbell of Olivet is atop the MIAA leaderboard with an average of 79.0 strokes-per-round.
The top four teams in the final MIAA regular season standings will be eligible to compete for the MIAA’s automatic bid to the NCAA III Tournament next spring.
The MIAA competition for the NCAA III Tournament bid will take place next spring in a 54-hole tournament. The (fall) MIAA regular season champion will host two of the 18-hole rounds in the spring with the league runner-up hosting the other 18-hole round.
