USTFCCCA Division III National Polls

The Calvin men’s cross country will head into the NCAA III Championships ranked 19th nationally. The Knights received the ranking earlier today when the USTFCCCA released its pre-nationals Top 35 poll.

The ranking is a drop of one spot for the Calvin men’s cross country which entered last week ranked 18th.

At the Great Lakes Regional meet last Saturday, Calvin took second with 79 points to earn an automatic berth to the NCAA III Championships this Saturday in Hanover, Indiana. Calvin will be making its 29th trip to the NCAA III Championships which ranks third on the all-time NCAA III men’s cross country list.

In addition, six members of the Calvin men’s cross country team have received Great Lakes All-Region honors for finishing in the top-35 individually at Saturday’s regional competition.

Those six individuals are junior Josh Ferguson (Naperville, IL/Neuqua Valley HS), freshman Zac Nowicki (Comstock Park/Calvin Christian HS), senior Philip Spitzer (Buckley/Buckley HS), sophomore Jeff Meitler (New Berlin, WI/Milwaukee Lutheran HS), senior Sam Kerk (Hartland, WI/Lake Country Lutheran HS)  and junior Steven Haagsma (Grandville/Calvin Christian HS).
