Calvin Men’s Basketball Picked to Win MIAA in Preseason Coaches’ Poll

The MIAA preseason men’s basketball coaches’ poll has been released and rivals Calvin and Hope have been picked to finish first and second respectively.

Defending MIAA champion Calvin received six of a possible seven first place votes while Hope received two first place votes.

Adrian was picked to finish third followed by Trine in fourth.

A year ago, Calvin finished 26-4 overall and on top of the MIAA standings with a 13-1 conference mark.

Calvin returns three starters and nine letterwinners from last year’s team.

Combined, Calvin or Hope have won at least a share of 54 of the last 58 MIAA men’s basketball titles.

The two rivals are scheduled to meet on January 11 at Calvin’s Van Noord Arena and on February 5 at Hope.
