Calvin In Eighth Place After Day One of MIAA Tournament

BATTLE CREEK—The first day of competition is complete at the 36-hole MIAA Tournament at the Bedford Valley Country Club. On day one, Calvin fired a team score of 420 strokes. Juniors Emily Tuuk (Grand Rapids/Grand Rapids Christian HS) and Kelli Visser (Grand Rapids/Grand Rapids Christian HS) were Calvin’s top two finishers with rounds of 98. Junior Kelsey Kolk (Jenison/Unity Christian HS) was next with a round of 99 while freshman Katy Berghuis (Wyoming/Calvin Christian HS) had a 125.
Calvin is in eighth place at the MIAA Tournament, four strokes ahead of Adrian. Olivet leads the field with a team score of 339 strokes.
Calvin returns to action on Saturday when it completes the tournament with a final 18-hole round.
