For the first time in his collegiate career, Calvin College junior striker Brad Heethuis has been named the MIAA’s Offensive Player of the Week. A native of Jenison and a graduate of Hudsonville Unity Christian high School, Heethuis scored the game-winning goal in a 1-0 victory over Hope on Saturday that clinched the outright MIAA title for the Knights.

The goal, scored just 6:04 into the match, was the fourth of the year for Heethuis who now has three game-winning goals to his credit this fall. Heethuis currently ranks third on the Calvin team in scoring with 13 points on the strength of four goals and five assists.

In winning its third consecutive MIAA title this past Saturday, Calvin clinched an automatic bid to the NCAA III Tournament this weekend. The Knights will open NCAA III Tournament play on Friday at 8:00 p.m. (EST) when they face host Wheaton (IL) in a first round NCAA III Tournament match.
