The Knights came through with an 8-3 victory over crosstown rival Aquinas on Tuesday.

But the Saints marched back in the fifth and sixth innings. In the fifth, Brendan Penny drilled a two-run single to left. Scott Witkop batted in a run in the sixth the cut the Knights advantage to one.
But Calvin would extend the margin an inning later. Ben Cok laced a two-run single down the third base line and Ben Wohl scored Cok on a single up the middle. At the end of the seventh, the Knights led by four.
That lead would hold as, in the eighth and ninth innings, Austin Juza and Brent Zinn, took to the mound to protect it. Zinn pitched the Saints into three groundouts to conclude the game at 8-3.
Tom Bouwkamp, who came on in the sixth, got the win for the Knights, who improved their record to 14-22 overall. Calvin will now prepare to host rival Hope on Friday at 2 p.m. in a doubleheader.
