The Calvin men’s and women’s swimming and diving teams recently wrapped up a successful weekend at the MIAA Championships. At the MIAA Championships, the Calvin women took first place with 849.5 points, claiming their fifth consecutive MIAA title including their seventh overall. All seven titles have been recorded in this current decade.
On the men’s side, Calvin took fourth with 333.5 points, recording several strong performances.
Calvin then swept both MVP awards on the women’s side as junior Emily Roberts of DeKalb, Illinois, was named the MIAA’s Most Valuable Swimmer while senior Erica Deur of Holland, Michigan, was named the MIAA’s Most Valuable Diver.
Roberts is just the third individual in Calvin women’s swimming history to receive MIAA Most Valuable Swimmer accolades. Deur meanwhile, received the Most Valuable Diver Award four consecutive years. During her conference career, Deur captured four consecutive league titles in on the one-meter board and four consecutive league titles on the three-meter board.
