Alex McKenzie Named MIAA Offensive Player of the Week in Men’s Soccer

ROYAL OAK, Mich. – The Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association has named Calvin forward Alex McKenzie its MIAA Offensive Player of the Week for the week ending October 11.
McKenzie, a senior from Lindenhurst, Ill. (Antioch HS), scored both of Calvin’s goals in the second half as the Knights posted a 2-0 MIAA win over Trine. The win moved Calvin into sole possession of first place in the MIAA. McKenzie is being honored as Player of the Week for the first time in his career.
McKenzie currently has three goals and two assists for eight points this year.
Ranked 14th nationally in one national poll and 16th in another, Calvin is currently 10-1-1 overall and on top of the MIAA standings with a 5-0-1 league record.
Calvin returns to action on Tuesday night when it travels to rival Hope for a 7:00 p.m. match under the lights of Hope’s Van Andel Soccer Stadium.
