Clutch shooting in a basketball game is what separates good teams from the rest of the pack.

Saturday night, in what could be called Calvin’s most vital game thus far in the season, the Knights took on the Britons of Albion and both teams showed why they are at the top of the MIAA standings.

After trailing for nearly 34 minutes of the contest, Calvin took a 62-60 lead down the stretch on the strength of a Matt Veltema triple and never looked back, en route to an 80-70 victory over Albion in a showdown of teams vying for first place in the MIAA standings.
