GRAND RAPIDS – Danny Rodts and Matt Veltema anchored a white-hot Calvin perimeter, and the Knights cruised to an 89-54 victory over the visiting Thunder in the first round of the MIAA Tournament Wednesday night inside the Van Noord Arena.

GRAND RAPIDS – Marcia Harris watched from the sidelines when Calvin was saddled with two overtime losses to Alma earlier this season.
She never lost to the Scots in her previous three seasons, and, facing elimination on Tuesday, she didn’t plan on starting now.
Harris poured in 10 points in only 14 minutes, Courtney Kurncz led all Calvin scorers with 12 points and the Knights snapped a two-game skid against Alma with a 69-41 win in the first round of the MIAA Tournament.

The Calvin women’s tennis team held its inaugural dual match inside the Huizenga Tennis and Track Center on Saturday and treated a home crowd to an 8-1 victory over regionally-ranked Carthage College.

NOTRE DAME, IN—The Calvin men’s swimming and diving team closed out a solid three days of competition at the MIAA Championships Saturday night, finishing fourth in the final team standings with a team score of 334 points, finishing more than 40 points ahead of fifth place Albion.

NOTRE DAME, IN—For the fifth consecutive year and for the seventh time overall, the Calvin women’s swimming and diving team can call itself MIAA champions. The Knights wrapped up another league crown on Saturday night, finishing with a final three-day total of 849.5 points. Calvin finished 90 points ahead of runner-up Hope.

GRAND RAPIDS – Calvin’s regular season finale against No. 2 Hope ended in a loss for the surging Knights, but, considering the circumstances, it wasn’t a completely deflating homecoming game for coach John Ross’s squad.
A mesmerizing second-half comeback fell just short and the Knights (15-9, 9-7) nearly upset the first-place Dutch, dropping a 68-65 decision in front of a crowd of 3,175 at the Van Noord Arena.

KALAMAZOO – Kalamazoo upset Calvin 68-66 in the regular season finale Saturday at Anderson Athletic Center. The Hornets snapped Calvin’s eight game winning streak and gave the Knights just their second loss in the MIAA.
