All-MIAA Women's Swimming & Diving Team
For the second consecutive year the Calvin women’s swimming and diving team have landed seven individuals on the All-MIAA women’s swimming and diving team. The total matches the highest number of All-MIAA selections in Calvin women’s swimming and diving history with the Knights also accomplishing the feat in 2001.
Named to the All-MIAA team from Calvin are seniors Erica Deur, Cara Van Woerkom and Julie Wolfe, juniors Emily Roberts, Maggie Vail and Laura Price and sophomore Monica Bressler.

All-MIAA Women's Basketball Team
Two members of the Calvin women’s basketball team have received All-MIAA accolades. Named to the All-MIAA first team from Calvin are senior center Marcia Harris and junior forward Brook Van Eck.
Harris is receiving first team All-MIAA honors for the fourth consecutive year. She is just the second individual in MIAA women’s basketball history to be named to the All-MIAA first team four straight years. Harris joins Calvin graduate Lisa Winkle (2004-2007) as the only two players in MIAA history to achieve the feat.

Three members of the Calvin men’s basketball team have received All-MIAA honors. Named to the All-MIAA first team from Calvin are senior guard Caleb Veldhouse and junior center John Mantel. In addition, junior forward Matt Veltema has been named to the All-MIAA second team. A native of Sioux Falls, South Dakota (Sioux Falls Christian High School), Veldhouse is receiving first team All-MIAA honors for the fourth consecutive year. Veldhouse is the seventh individual in MIAA men’s basketball history including the fourth from Calvin to be named to the All-MIAA first team four straight years.

GRAND RAPIDS – One night after their best shooting performances at the Van Noord Arena, the Knights turned in one of their worst.
Calvin shot just 33 percent from the floor – including 17 percent from 3-point range – and Hope used an 18-0 second-half run to outlast the Knights in the MIAA Tournament Championship game, 69-59.

ANDERSON, In—The Calvin men’s and women’s track and field teams made one last push to qualify individuals for the upcoming NCAA III Indoor Track and Field Championships by competing at the Fred Wilt Invitational hosted by Anderson University. The meet was scored and on the women’s side, Calvin took first place with 140 points. On the men’s side, Calvin took second with 108 points.
Veltema’s Hot Hand Helps Calvin in MIAA Tournament Play

GRAND RAPIDS – Matt Veltema’s hot hand has been the spark plug for Calvin’s offense over the last three games.
In Calvin’s MIAA tournament semi-final win over Olivet on Friday, Veltema exploded from three-point range. The 6-6 forward poured in 19 points on four of six from down town en route to his fourth straight double-digit effort.
