The throw is just nine inches shy of an NCAA III (indoor) automatic qualifying mark. Senior Rachel Boerner (Bergenfield, NJ/Hillcrest Lutheran Academy) also got off to a quick start, placing fourth in the 400 meter dash with an NCAA III indoor provisional qualifying time of 57.82.
