Trailing 1-0 going into the second half and with the season on the line, Calvin rallied on its Senior Day with two second half goals to defeat the Hornets of Kalamazoo College in a thrilling MIAA tournament semifinal match. Ranked 16th nationally by d3soccer.com, the Knights controlled the pace of the game in both halves, but after a late first half goal by Kalamazoo, Calvin (14-2-2) needed to come from behind to extend its conference season. Calvin did just that, scoring a pair of second half goals - one from senior Carly Prins and the game-winner from sophomore Jillian Honderd to claim a 2-1 victory. Calvin advances to Saturday’s MIAA Tournament Championship game at Alma (noon kickoff) with the winner receiving an automatic bid to the NCAA III Tournament.
