Men’s Basketball Falls at Ferris State In Exhibition Game

BIG RAPIDS—Ferris State used a 36-17 scoring run over the final 11 minutes of the first half to take control of Tuesday’s 80-66 exhibition win over the visiting Calvin Knights. The host Bulldogs shot 60 percent from the floor in the first half, en route to taking a 48-31 halftime lead.
Rebecca Kamp Named MIAA’s MVP In Volleyball - Sears Named MIAA Defensive Player of the Year

GRAND RAPIDS—Calvin College freshman Rebecca Kamp has been named the MIAA’s Most Valuable Player and the MIAA’s Freshman of the Year. In addition, Calvin junior Kelsey Sears has been named the MIAA’s Defensive Player of the Year.
The awards were part of the All-MIAA team released this evening as Kamp and Sears were both named to the All-MIAA first team while senior Lauren DeGroot and junior Sara Kramer have been named to the All-MIAA second team.
Calvin Women’s Soccer Team To Host Four-Team NCAA III Regional

The Calvin women’s soccer team will host a four-team NCAA III regional this Friday and Saturday. Joining Calvin (17-2-1) in the regional field will be the College of Mount St. Joseph (14-4-2), the University of Chicago (12-5-1) and Wittenberg (11-3-6).
On Friday, Calvin will face Mount St. Joseph at 11:00 a.m. with Wittenberg and Chicago set to face each other at 1:30 p.m. (EST).
Friday’s winners will then meet on Saturday at 1:00 p.m. (EST)
Men’s Soccer To Open NCAA III Tournament Play in Delaware, Ohio

The Calvin men’s soccer team will travel to Delaware, Ohio, this weekend to compete in a four-team regional hosted by Ohio Wesleyan University. Calvin will face Carnegie-Mellon University - a Pool C (at-large) qualifier to this year’s tournament. Carnegie-Mellon (14-2-1) competes in the University Athletic Association. Friday’s Calvin/Carnegie-Mellon game will begin at 5:00 p.m. (EST).
Women’s volleyball Team Receives At-Large Bid to NCAA III Tournament - Headed to UW-Oshkosh

The Calvin women’s volleyball team has received an at-large bid to the NCAA III Tournament which opens later this week. Calvin (26-4) will travel to the University of Wisconsin-Oshkosh to face Wisconsin-Whitewater (29-9) in a first round match on Thursday at 2:00 p.m. (EST).
Swimming and Diving Teams Split Dual Meets at Wheaton

WHEATON, IL – The Calvin men’s and women’s swimming and diving teams split dual meets at Wheaton on Saturday with the women’s team edging Wheaton 122-115 while the Calvin men’s team fell to Wheaton 119-102.
The Calvin women’s swim team is now 3-1 in dual meet competition this year while the Calvin men’s team is 1-2.
Trine Hands Men’s Soccer First Conference Defeat Of Season

Trine scored in the first minute and the final minute of Saturday’s MIAA regular season finale at Zuidema Field. Trine’s 2-1 overtime win snapped Calvin’s 13-game undefeated streak and 26-game league undefeated streak.
The Knights already clinched their second straight MIAA championship and the NCAA automatic qualifier. Seeding for the NCAA tournament will be determined on Monday.

ROYAL OAK – The Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association announced Saturday that it has cancelled the MIAA volleyball tournament, which had initially been postponed until Tuesday, Nov. 11.

MIAA Volleyball Tournament semifinals and finals postponed
ROYAL OAK – Friday’s and Saturday’s matches in the MIAA volleyball tournament have been postponed until Tuesday, Nov. 11.
Commissioner David Neilson has determined that the matches will be conducted on Tuesday in a triangular format at Hope College’s DeVos Fieldhouse.*
