Women’s Golf Invitational Rained Out

MARSHALL – Calvin’s weekend plans golf plans were washed away as the Olivet Invitational was rained out Friday and Saturday. The 36-hole tournament was scheduled to be held at the Medalist Golf Club but both days of competition were washed away by rain.
Calvin is set to return to action next Saturday, competing at an MIAA outing hosted by Trine University at the Zollner Golf Club at 1:00 p.m.

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. – While heavy afternoon showers stifled the pace of Saturday’s home bout against Ohio Northern, the Knights were able to overcome an early deficit and, with under seven minutes remaining, pull ahead off an Emily Ottenhoff penalty kick that lifted Calvin to a thrilling 3-2 victory.

Men’s and Women’s Cross Country Teams Both Ranked Number Two

The Calvin men’s and women’s cross country teams are both ranked number-two in the most recent Division III Top-25 poll of the year. The Calvin women have moved up two spots from last week’s poll while the Calvin remain in the number-two spot. Cortland State of New York remains the top-ranked team in the men’s poll while Amherst (MA) remains the top-ranked teams in the women’s poll.

BATTLE CREEK – The Calvin men’s golf team had a solid showing at the second MIAA outing of the year, posting a fourth place score of 309 strokes. The outing was held Wednesday afternoon at the Bedford Valley Country Club with Olivet serving as host.
The Knights remain in fifth place in the overall MIAA standings.

In a battle of nationally ranked teams, 16th ranked Calvin women’s soccer team notched its first tie of the season against 17th ranked University of Chicago Wednesday at Zuidema Field. Calvin stands at 2-1-1 on the season and University of Chicago moves to 3-1-1.

ANGOLA, IN—The nationally-ranked Calvin women’s volleyball team moved up three spots in the national poll on Wednesday afternoon and then went out and defeated Trine University in three sets a few hours later to improve to 5-1 overall and to 2-0 in the MIAA. Now ranked 18th in the latest AVCA Division III Top 25 poll released Wednesday afternoon, Calvin defeated host Trine 25-14, 27-25, 25-20 Wednesday evening inside Trine’s Hershey Hall.
