The Calvin menís swimming and diving team returns eight letterwinners from a team that finished in fourth place in the 2008 MIAA standings. The eight returners will mesh with eight first-year swimmers.

The Calvin womenís swimming and diving team will head into the 2008-09 season as the four-time defending MIAA champions. Whether or not the Knights can make it five in a row remains to be seen but the Knights do return several letterwinners on which to build their championship hopes.

2008 Calvin Men’s Golf Preview

Consistency and improvement will be goals of the Calvin men’s golf team this fall. A year ago, the Knights slipped to sixth place in the MIAA standings after finishing fifth in 2006, 2005 and 2004. Finding a consistent lineup was the biggest challenge for head coach Brian Bolt as the Knights fielded seven different lineups during the 2007 MIAA season.

2008 Calvin Men’s Cross Country Preview

The Calvin men’s cross country team will seek to keep a pair of notable streaks alive. Heading into the 2008 campaign, the Knights have captured 21 consecutive MIAA titles. The streak is the second longest active championship streak in MIAA history. The Knights have also garnered 10 consecutive top four national finishes beginning with a national runner-up berth in 1998 and later including national titles in 2000, 2003, 2004 & 2006. Last year, Calvin entered the NCAA III Cross Country Championships ranked number-one but finished fourth at the national meet.

The Calvin womenís cross country team will head into the upcoming 2008 campaign with optimism. The Knights return an abundance of letterwinners including five of their top seven runners from a 2007 team that finished fourth nationally, captured a Great Lakes Regional title and claimed its third consecutive MIAA title including its 19th overall.
