Jessica Koster Named ESPN The Magazine Academic All-American

For the second consecutive year, Calvin College senior Jessica Koster has been named a first team ESPN The Magazine Academic All-American.
Koster is receiving ESPN The Magazine Academic All-America accolades once again in the women’s college track and field/cross country college division. A cross country and track and field standout, Koster has earned All-America accolades three times in her Calvin running career - twice in track and field and once in cross country. This past fall, she pciked up an All-America berth in cross country by placing 34th at the NCAA III Cross Country Championships. Last month, she claimed All-America honors for the second straight year in the 10,000 meters, placing sixth in the event at the NCAA III Outdoor Track and Field Championships. At the 2009 national meet, she placed fifth in the 10,000 meters.
Calvin Finishes 14th in Final Learfield Sports Director’s Cup Standings

For the 15th consecutive year, Calvin has posted a top 25 finish in the final NCAA III Learfield Sports Directors’ Cup standings, finishing 14th in the nation in Division III in 2009-10 with a total of 634 points.
Calvin’s point total is its second-highest ever in the 15 years of the competition.
Calvin continues to be one of only seven schools in the country to finish in the top 25 every year that the competition has been held at the NCAA III level.
Joining Calvin in that elite group are Williams, Mass., Amherst, Mass., Middlebury, Vt., Wisconsin-LaCrosse, the State University of New York at Cortland and Emory, Ga.
Williams College, Mass., defended its title as the best athletics program in the nation in Division III by winning its 14th U.S. Sports Academy Directors’ Cup with 1,292.25 points.
Calvin Summer Sports Camps In Full Gear

The Calvin College summer sports camps are in full swing. Calvin is currently hosting tennis and swimming camps this week. In the upcoming weeks, Calvin will host boys and girls basketball, girls volleyball and soccer camps.
The soccer camps for boys and girls will feature individualized instruction which is geared towards the select intermediate and beginning soccer players with an academy style training emphasis. The academy style training will place importance on the technical portion of the game. Calvin’s soccer camps are scheduled to take place July 12-16 and July 19-23.
