Tuesday, October 05, 2010
The Calvin women’s soccer team battled Alma to a 1-1 double-overtime tie Tuesday afternoon at Zuidema Field. Calvin outshot the visiting Scots 26-7 but Alma (8-3-1 overall, 2-0-1 MIAA) got on the scoreboard first with a goal in the 15th minute of play. Calvin answered with a goal by senior Elaine Schnabel in the 28th minute of play. Calvin continued to pepper the Alma goal throughout the remainder of the first half but could not come away with the go-ahead score. Scoring chances in the second half as well as overtime were few and far between for both teams. Calvin (8-2-2 overall, 1-1-1 MIAA) will host Adrian on Saturday at noon.
