HOLLAND – With two days of competition left at the MIAA Swimming and Diving Championships, the Calvin women’s team is in second place while the Calvin men’s team is in third place. On the women’s side, Calvin sits two points behind host Hope as the Knights have 253 points with Hope holding the lead at 255. On the men’s side, Calvin is in third place with 217 points, 19 points ahead of Olivet and 31 points behind Hope with Kalamazoo in first with 296 points. In the men’s competition, sophomore Andrew Krafft highlighted the competition by repeating as MIAA champion on the one-meter diving board, recording a score of 534.55 after posting a score of 546.10 in the prelims
Calvin Men Take Second in 800 Free Relay/Calvin Women Fourth in 800 Free Relay at MIAA Championships

HOLLAND – The first night of the four-day MIAA Swimming and Diving Championships took place Wednesday night at the Holland Aquatic Center. After one day of competition, the Calvin men are in second place with 34 points while the Calvin women are in fourth place with 30 points. The only finals events that took place on Wednesday were the men’s and women’s 800 freestyle relays.In the men’s 800 freestyle relay, the Calvin team of senior Ross Battoclette, freshman Alex Baumann, sophomore Andrew Mitchell and freshman Travis Vincent had a season-best time of 6:54.12 that was good for second place, just .54 of a second behind Kalamazoo’s winning relay team. On the women’s side, the Calvin team of junior Elizabeth Counsell, junior Stephanie Fox, freshman Kathryn Wrobel and junior Shelby Cloyd took fourth in a time of 8:05.48.
Dual Meet Victories for Calvin Over Olivet - Andrew Krafft Resets Record on One-Meter Board

The Calvin men’s and women’s swimming and diving teams closed out their dual meet campaigns with victories over Olivet Saturday afternoon at the Venema Aquatic Center. In the men’s competition, Calvin handed Olivet a 146-88 defeat while the Calvin women defeated Olivet 114-78. The Calvin women finish their dual meet season with a 7-2 record while the Calvin men finish 5-3 in dual meet action.
Sophomore Andrew Krafft once again dominated on the diving boards, establishing a new school records on the one meter board for six dives. On the one-meter board, Krafft took first place with a score of 363.90, breaking his previous record by nearly 20 points. It marked the third time this year that Krafft has reset the Calvin one-meter record. Krafft also won the three-meter board with a total of 354.75 points.
