The first day of competition of the 2011 Calvin Winter Invitational is in the books and after day one, the Calvin women’s team is in second place in a field of eight teams with 71 points while the Calvin men’s team is fifth in a field of eight teams with 51 points. Just two events were held on Thursday night - the 800 freestyle relay and the 1,650 freestyle.
Women’s Swimming and Diving Claims 164-135 Dual Meet Win Over Hope

HOLLAND - Calvin improved to 2-2 in dual meet action with a 164-135 win at rival Hope Saturday afternoon. Calvin took first place in eight indvididual events led by sophomore Sam Klaasen and freshman Lexi Scott who were both double-winners. Klaasen took both diving competitions, winning the one-meter board (244.55) and three-meter board (245.45). Scott meanwhile won the 200 breaststroke (2:34.66) and 200 IM (2:16.19).

The Calvin men and women’s swim and dive team played host to Wayne State Friday night.In the men’s competition, Wayne State topped Calvin 158-79The women would be outdueled as well, however, as the Warriors took the meet 144-92.
