Men’s and Women’s Cross Country Teams Come Up Big at Oshkosh Invite

WINNECONNE, WI - In a field of nationally-ranked teams, the Calvin men’s and women’s cross country teams came up big Saturday morning at the Wisconsin-Oshkosh Brooks Invitational.
On the men’s side, eighth-ranked Calvin surprised the field by placing second with a team score of 78 points, just 29 points behind top-ranked North Central while also finishing ahead of second-ranked Washington University (MO), seventh-ranked UW-Stevens Point, ninth-ranked NYU and 10th-ranked UW-Whitewater. NYU took third with 138 points with Washington University fourth (146 points) and UW-Stevens Point fifth (150 points) .On the women’s side, Division II Minnesota-Duluth took first place with 89 points with 15th-ranked Chicago and seventh-ranked Wisconsin-Oshkosh tying for second place with 116 points. 10th-ranked Calvin finished in fourth place, just one point out of second as the Knights garnered 117 points.
Cross Country/Track Athletes Completes Summer Internship With Cleveland Browns

Calvin Junior Sarah Orndorff always dreamed of working in marketing for a professional sports organization. So when the Cleveland Browns offered her a summer internship position, she jumped at the opportunity.
Orndorff, a member of the Calvin women’s track and field and cross country teams worked as a “fan avidity” intern for the Browns. Her internship dealt specifically in the field of retail marketing.
Men’s and Women’s Cross Country Teams Take Small Division Titles at Michigan Intercollegiates

ROCHESTER - The nationally-ranked Calvin men’s and women’s cross country teams had solid performances at the Michigan Intercollegiates Friday afternoon at Oakland University’s Katke Golf Course as both Calvin squads took first place in their respective small college divisions. The Michigan Intercollegiates includes teams from around the state of Michigan at the NCAA I, II and III levels as well as NAIA institutions. On the men’s side, Calvin took first place in the small college division with 55 points. On the women’s side, Calvin took first place in the small college division with 34 points.
