Women’s Track and Field Team Climbs Back Into Top 25 Indoor Rankings

The Calvin women’s track and field team has climbed back into the Division III Top 25 Indoor Track and Field rankings as conducted by the United States Track and Field Cross Country Coaches Association. The Knights are ranked 24th in this poll - the first time they have been ranked since mid-January. Calvin will be sending two individuals to the NCAA III Indoor Track and Field Championships this weekend at Capital University. Competing for Calvin will be senior Rachel Boerner in the 400 meters and senior Sarah Reasoner in the shot put.

The Calvin men’s and women’s track and field teams will be sending a combined four individuals to the NCAA III Indoor Track and Field Championships this Friday and Saturday. The national meet will be hosted by Capital University in Columbus, Ohio. Representing the Calvin women’s team will be seniors Rachel Boerner and Sarah Reasoner. Representing the Calvin men’s team will be junior Nick Kramer and sophomore Greg Whittle.

Boerner Qualifies for NCAA III Indoor Track & Field Championships - Whittle Makes a Bid

NAPERVILLE, IL—Rachel Boerner punched her ticket to next week’s NCAA III Indoor Track and Field Championships Friday night and Greg Whittle most likely did too. Boerner posted an NCAA III Indoor track and field automatic qualifying time at the North Central College Last-Chance Invitational Friday night while Whittle had a strong NCAA III provisional qualifying time. The NCAA III Indoor Track & Field Championships will be held next Friday and Saturday at Capital University in the suburbs of Columbus, Ohio. Boerner won the 400 meters in an automatic qualifying time of 56.38. Boerner (Bergenfield, NJ/Hillcrest Lutheran Academy) is the defending national indoor and outdoor champion in the 400 meters. On the men’s side, Whittle (Galesburg, IL/Galesburg HS) hopes to make his first trip to the NCAA III Indoor Track and Field Championships after winning the mile run Friday night in a provisional qualifying time of 4:11.96.
