Split for Calvin Softball In Tucson

TUCSON, AZ—Calvin picked up its first victory of the year on Wednesday, defeating St. Catherine (MN) 7-4. The Knights were then defeated by Buena Vista College 7-6. In the win over St. Catherine, senior Kristin Folkerts (Grand Rapids Christian HS) picked up the pitching victory.

The Calvin softball season will get underway this Saturday when the Knights have three games in Tucson, Arizona. Calvin is led by second-year head coach Emily Bustrum. Softball ends on a high note

The Calvin softball team closed out its 2008 season by splitting a non-conference doubleheader with Case Western Reserve at Gainey Field, dropping the first game 7-3 while squeaking out a narrow 5-4 victory in game two.
