Calvin Graduate Making Impact on Pro Cycling Circuit - Wins Jersey at Tour of Utah

SALT LAKE CITY, UT—Brad White, a 2005 Calvin College graduate, is making an impressive mark on the professional bicycling circuit. On Wednesday, White earned the 2009 Tour of Utah’s King of the Mountains jersey after an impressive climb through the mountains on the first stage of the five-day, five-stage race. In 2008, his attacking style earned him the Tour of Utah’s sprinter jersey.

Women’s Swimming & Diving Team Ranked Eighth - Men Receive Votes in Final Top 25 poll of the Year

The final Division III Top 25 poll of the year conducted by Collegeswimming.com has been released and the Calvin women’s team has finished eighth. Under the direction of head coach Dan Gelderloos, the Knights captured their fifth consecutive MIAA title this year and are sending 11 individuals to this week’s NCAA III Championships in Minneapolis. The Knights will be bidding for fifth consecutive top 10 national finish.

The Calvin Sports Information Department caught up with Calvin head men’s and women’s swim coach Dan Gelderloos to recap the recent MIAA Championships. Also included are audio interviews with the MIAA Women’s Most Valuable Swimmer (women’s) Emily Roberts and with the MIAA Women’s Most Valuable Diver Erica Deur.
