Calvin Swimming & Diving Teams Claim Victories In Triangular With Alma & Saint Mary’s

A week after impressive second place finishes at the Chicago Invitational, the Calvin men’s swimming and diving team was able to defeat Alma College 118-106 in a dual meet while the women bested Alma 124-104 and Saint Mary’s 121-84.

Calvin Men’s and Women’s Swimming & Diving Teams Place Second at U. of Chicago Classic

CHICAGO, IL - The Calvin men’s and women’s swimming and diving teams both finished second at the University of Chicago Classic late Saturday night with the Calvin men placing second with 878 points while the Calvin women were second with 709 points. Host Chicago won both the men’s and women’s competitions with the Chicago women posting a team score of 1,107,5 points and the Chicago men posting a total of 834.5 points. On the men’s side, sophomore diver Andrew Kraft winning the one and three-meter competitions. His winning score on the one-meter board of 540.60 was a pool record, a new Calvin (school) record, a season-best performance and an NCAA III qualifying total. His winning score of 545.80 on the three-meter board was also a season-best and NCAA III qualifying total. On the women’s side, junior Stephanie Fox took first place in both the 200 freestyle (1:59.60) and 100 freestyle (54.86).

Calvin Men’s and Women’s Swimming & Diving Teams in Second Place Through Day One of Chicago Invite

CHICAGO, IL - The Calvin men’s and women’s swimming and diving teams are in second place through one day of competition at the University of Chicago Invitational. In the men’s competition, Calvin is in second place in a field of seven teams with 262 points. On the women’s side, Calvin is in second place in a field of six teams with 232 points. Host Chicago leads the men’s competition with 326 points while Lincoln College leads the women’s field with 263 points.
