HOLLAND - Calvin picked up an exciting dual meet victory over Hope on Saturday afternoon, grabbing a two-point lead with two events remaining and then holding on down the stretch. The Knights are now 2-2 in dual meet action this year. Key to the Calvin win was the performance of its 200 IM swimmers in the second-to-the-last event of the day as the Knights went 1-2-5 to garner 14 points. Junior Stephen Kraft led the 200 IM charge with a first place time of 2:03.06 while freshman Travis Vincent was second (2:03.49) and sophomore Peter Johnson fifth (2:06.73). Calvin then needed to just finish second in the 400 freestyle relay to clinch the win and the Calvin quartet of freshman Alex Baumann, sophomore Andrew Mitchell, junior Mark Rushlow and senior Ross Battoclette did just that, placing second with a time of 3:16.70, finishing less than a half-second out of first place.
