Men’s Tennis To Face Kalamazoo in Finals of MIAA Tournament

ALBION - For the fourth time in the last five years, the Calvin men’s tennis team has advanced to the MIAA Tournament finals. The Knights advanced to the MIAA Tournament finals with a 6-0 first round win over Adrian and a 5-0 semifinal victory over Hope in the semifinals. Calvin will face top-seeded Kalamazoo in the championship final Saturday at noon with the winner receiving an automatic bid to the NCAA III Team Tournament. Calvin is now 16-7 overall heading into Saturday’s title tilt, scheduled to take place at Albion College.
Men’s Tennis Claims Second Place in MIAA With Win at Rival Hope

HOLLAND - The Calvin men’s tennis team picked up an all-important 8-1 victory at rival Hope Tuesday afternoon to finish second in the final MIAA regular season standings and also gain the second seed for the upcoming MIAA Tournament. The Knights finish the MIAA regular season 5-1, one win ahead of 4-2 Hope. The Knights are also now 14-7 overall heading into the MIAA Tournament. Calvin will open MIAA Tournament play on Friday against Adrian in a first round tournament match. Albion will host the MIAA Tournament this Friday and Saturday.

Calvin bumped its season record to 13-7 overall and to 4-1 in the MIAA. The Knights have one league dual match left before the conference tournament and that match will take place against rival Hope next Tuesday in Holland. Both teams will head into the Tuesday tilt with 4-1 league records with the Tuesday match likely determing second place in the league standings and the second seed for the upcoming MIAA Tournament. In its victory over Adrian on Thursday, Calvin rolled to straight sets victories in all three doubles flights and in all six singles flights.
