Women’s Cross Country Team Ranked #1/Men’s Cross Country Team Ranked 16th

The Calvin women’s cross country team remains the top-ranked team in the latest set of Division III Top 35 National Rankings released by the United States Track and Field Cross Country Coaches Association. The Knights picked up 278 points in the latest poll with Johns Hopkins second with 274 points. The Calvin men’s cross country team also remains ranked 16th in the men’s poll with North Central (IL) continuing to hold the top spot.
Both Calvin cross country teams are preparing for the MIAA Championships which are scheduled to take place on October 31 at Adrian.
Calvin Men’s Cross Country Team Places Fourth at Wisconsin-Oshkosh Brooks Invitational

OSHKOSH, WI—The 16th-ranked Calvin men’s cross country team had a strong showing at the Wisconsin-Oshkosh Brooks Invitational on Saturday, placing fourth with a team score of 158 points, finishing ahead of 15th-ranked Wisconsin-Oshkosh. Top-ranked North Central dominated the field with a first place team score of 22 points followed by sixth-ranked UW-Stevens Point in second (97 points) and ninth-ranked Augustana (IL) in third place (151 points).
Calvin XC Teams Host Michigan Intercollegiates

The Calvin men’s and women’s cross country teams hosted the 2009 Michigan Intercollegiates on Friday at the Gainey Athletic Complex. In the men’s race, the University of Michigan took first place with a team score of 32 points. Calvin took fifth with a team score of 178 points. In the women’s race, Grand Valley State took first place with 16 points while Calvin was second with 49 points.
