Weekend Baseball Series With Adrian Postponed

The Calvin-Adrian baseball series scheduled for this Friday and Saturday has been postponed because of cold weather conditions. Calvin was scheduled to travel to Adrian on Friday for a doubleheader and then host the Bulldogs on Saturday for a twinbill. The Friday doubleheader at Adrian has been rescheduled for Monday, March 28 at 2 p.m. while Saturday’s doubleheader at Calvin has been rescheduled for Tuesday, March 29 at 2 p.m.
Baseball Team Picks Up 9-6 Win Over Buena Vista Saturday Night

TUCSON, AZ - The Calvin baseball team improved to 3-2 overall and remained unbeaten on its spring trip to Tucson with a 9-6 win over Buena Vista College (IA) Saturday night. Senior Keith Spoelstra had a solid outing in his second start of the year and was credited with the pitching victory. Senior Jeff Groenewold came on in relief to pick up the save. The Knights were led at the plate by senior Andrew Bosma who had a single, double and three runs batted in. Calvin will face Hamline University (MN) Monday morning and will then face Buena Vista against Monday afternoon.
Baseball Opens Spring Trip With Doubleheader Sweep Over Norwich

TUCSON, AZ - The Calvin baseball team opened its spring trip with a doubleheader sweep over Norwich University Friday afternoon, defeating the Cadets 11-5 and 22-6. Senior Peter Steiner had a big afternoon for the Knights, belting a homerun in game one and picking up the pitching victory and also belting a double in game two. In game one, junior Scott Tipton and senior Andrew Bosma added triples to aid a collection of Calvin pitchers that included starter Eric Poencet and freshman Cory Laster. Calvin is scheduled to face Buena Vista (IA) College late Saturday night with the game set to begin at approximately 10:30 p.m. (EST).
