Tom Snikkers Named to d3hoops.com Great Lakes All-Region Third Team

Calvin College sophomore Tom Snikkers has been named to the d3hoops.com Great Lakes All-Region third team. A native of Jenison and a graduate of Hudsonville Unity Christian High School, Snikkers is receiving all-region honors for the first time in his collegiate career. Snikkers led Calvin in scoring and rebounding this year, averaging 15.6 points and 6.7 rebounds a game while connecting on 47.9 percent of his field goal attempts and 77.9 percent of his free throw attempts. He notched double-digits in scoring in 25 of Calvin’s 28 games this year and four double-doubles along the way including a 33-point, 12-rebound effort against Carthage College on December 4.
Tom Snikkers Named to All-MIAA First Team in Men’s Basketball - Danny Rodts Named to Second Team

For the first time in his career, Calvin College sophomore forward Tom Snikkers has been named to the All-MIAA first team in men’s basketball. A native of Jenison and a graduate of Hudsonville Unity Christian High School, Snikkers holds a unique distinction this year as his older sister Carrie Snikkers has been named to the All-MIAA first team in women’s basketball as a member of the Hope College women’s basketball team. The brother/sister combo is the first in MIAA history to receive All-MIAA first team honors in men’s/women’s basketball.
In addition, Calvin senior Danny Rodts has been named to the All-MIAA second team. A native of Niles and a graduate of Niles High School, Rodts averaged 12.1 points and 5.6 rebounds a game. Rodts is receiving All-MIAA second team honors for the first time. Under the direction of head coach Kevin Vande Streek, the Calvin men’s basketball team finished 16-12 overall and in second place in the final MIAA regular season standings with a 9-5 conference mark.
