Kiff Vanden Heuvel, a 1992 Calvin College graduate, made his Super Bowl debut Sunday night.

Also a 1988 Grand Rapids South Christian High School graduate, Vanden Heuvel served as the lead pitchman for a series of Denny’s ads that appeared throughout the second half of Sunday night’s CBS broadcast of the Super Bowl game between the New Orleans Saints and Indianapolis Colts. Vanden Heuvel’s first ad appeared in the third quarter as he promoted Denny’s upcoming free Grand Slam breakfast promotion on February 9. He later did the voice over for a series of subsequent ads for the Denny’s promotion.

Saturday, February 06, 2010

The Calvin men’s tennis team kicked off its season on Saturday with a pair of dual matches inside the Huizenga Tennis and Track Center. Calvin opened the day with a 9-0 victory over Grand Rapids Community College and followed with a 7-2 win over Spring Arbor later Saturday evening.

Calvin’s victory over Grand Rapids Community College will not count on its season record as it did not come against a four-year institution.

Calvin returns to action next Friday and Saturday when it competes at the Grand Rapids City Tournament with Aquinas, Grand Rapids Community College and Hope also competing.
