Who may Apply
Target applicants should have completed a Ph.D. in economics, agricultural and resource economics, public policy or a closely related discipline within the previous ten years or be ABD and expecting to complete their degree within a year or so. Applicants should have a primary focus in empirical development economics and a personal Christian faith commitment.
The 12 participants will be selected competitively based on scholarly preparation and promise, commitment to program goals, and the mix of skills, perspectives, experiences, and geographic diversity they bring to the group. All participants will complete an individual research project in the field, so a proposed project sketch is part of the application.
Participants will receive a $1000 research grant, housing, meals, and a substantial travel allowance that will cover most or all of air transportation to the three meetings.
How to Apply
To apply, an application will consist of:
- Curriculum Vitae or Resume
- Project proposal identifying the topic on which the applicant proposes to write within this project (3 pages maximum)
- Statement of motivation to join this project (2 pages maximum)
- One or two sample research papers
- Names and telephone numbers of 2-3 referees who can speak to applicant’s ability to work in small groups (letters of recommendation are not needed)
