The Power of Race in American Religion

Directed by
Michael Emerson
June 21 - July 9, 2010

Applicant Information

Who May Apply
This seminar is appropriate for social science and humanities scholars.
They can already hold the most advanced degree in their fields, or be
significantly along the way to doing so. Participants should have
significant interest in studying and teaching race and religion. Thus, in
addition to their educational qualifications, participants also will be
selected in part based on their interest in the topic and their assessed
interest in and ability to complete a research project.

How to Apply

To apply, an applicant must submit the application form. In addition to general applicant information, the application form will require:

  1. Curriculum vitae or resume
  2. One page or less describing the applicant's interest in the seminar topic.
Applicants may also within this one page describe any research or teaching
experience germane to the topic that might not be evident on the CV.
  3. One page or less on a possible seminar research project that the
applicant would work on during the seminar. The applicant need not know
specifically the topic (that may only be known through participation in the
seminar), but should in any case outline a hypothetical project.
  4. Name and contact information for two (2) references

You will receive an email confirmation within 10 days of submitting your complete application. If you do not hear from us, please call us to determine whether your complete application has been received.

The application deadline is January 15, 2010. Participants will be selected after the application deadline. Incomplete and/or late applications will not be considered. Applicants will be notified of their status by March 1, 2010.
