Calvin Reunions - Class of 1961

Message to the Class of 1961,

Our 45th reunion is just around the corner. We hope that you have reserved Friday, June 23, 2006, for a day of reconnecting, reminiscing, and renewal.

“Let the Light Shine Through Us” is our theme. Will you give us a “window” into how your Calvin experience frames your life? Please use the back side of the registration form for your submission, or, better, you may email your story to us at reunions@calvin.edu. We would like to compile a booklet for the reunion.

We will rendezvous at 2:00 p.m. at the Hospitality Center in the lobby of the Prince Conference Center. Consider wearing walking shoes for tours of new campus highlights.

Choices for afternoon activities include:
- The Science Building: David DeHeer ‘67, Professor and
Chair of Biology, will be our guide and will share glimpses of
faculty and student research.
- The Bunker Interpretive Center and Nature Preserve: View
this LEED Gold award-winning facility where Cheryl
Hoogewind ‘93 manages the ecosytem and study center.
- The Hickory Room of the Prince Center, where Bette
Bosma ‘48, Professor of Education Emeritus, will discuss
staying replenished spiritually, mentally, and physically as one
enters the retirement years.

At 5:00 p.m. we’ll meet in the Fireside Room of the Prince Conference Center for a reception, a time to visit with friends, and to take the Don Drenth memory bluebook. We have invited several professors of our
era to join us at that time. After our class photo in the DeVos Forum, we will have dinner and entertainment in the Great Hall. River City Improv, a group of Calvin grads, will perform short form improvisational comedy sketches based on audience suggestions. We’ll relax and enjoy a dessert buffet at the close of the day in the Fireside Room. We’re excited about the day’s activities and we hope that you will make plans to join us.
