If you are a member of the Calvin College
Class of 1956, we invite you to join us for a special reunion celebrating
the 50th anniversary of your graduation from Calvin.
We have wonderful plans for this once-in-a-lifetime event. Please see
the schedule of events listed below.
Friday Schedule of Events:
12:00 noon Luncheon - Prince Conference Center
This portion of your reunion is sponsored by the Calvin Development Office.
Our optional suggestion is that you wear 1950's attire to the luncheon.
This will also be your chance to buy a brick from the Franklin Street
campus.
2:00 p.m. Speech Pathology Presentation - DeVos Communication
Center
You'll have the opportunity to tour our new Speech
Pathology Department and hear from one of our professors, Judith Vander
Woude.
3:30 p.m. Physics and Astronomy Presentation - Science Building
We'll head over to the Science Building to hear Professor Larry
Molnar talk about the exciting discoveries made by the Physics
and Astronomy Department and you'll get a chance to see their state-of-the-art
equipment.

3:30 p.m. Bunker Interpretive Center Presentation - Bunker Interpretive
Center
You'll have the chance to hear from Manager of the Ecosystem
Preserve, Cheryl Hoogewind, who will tell us about the this award-winning
facility with the environmentally friendly features.
4:45 p.m. Break or Choir Practice
We'd love to have you join the class choir, which will be singing
at the Chapel Service on Saturday. Classmate Rev. Don Postema will conduct
the choir. (The location for the practice will be announced at a later
date.)
6:00 p.m. Reception - Prince Conference Center Fireside Room
7:00 p.m. Dinner - Prince Conference Center Great Hall
Enjoy a delicious meal prepared by our talented chef Patrick
Mitchell.
After Dark - Observatory
If the sky is clear, we invite you to visit our Observatory
to see the stars first hand.
Saturday Schedule of Events:
9:30 a.m. Choir Practice - Chapel Sanctuary
If you signed up to sing in the class choir, we will be holding
our final practice at this time.
10:30 a.m. Robe Fitting - Chapel Narthex
Please stop by the Chapel Narthex to pick up the robe you'll
use for the Medallion Ceremony and Commencement.
11:00 a.m. Chapel Service & Medallion Ceremony - Chapel Sanctuary
This is where the group will commemorate 50 years as Calvin alumni.
The Chapel speaker is classmate, Rev. Ren Broekhuizen, who will give us
the message based on Matthew 20:1-16 entitled "Somewhere Along the
Way." Also, other members of the class will be participating in the
service, and this is where you will receive your 50 year medallion.
11:45 a.m. Class Photo - Chapel Sanctuary
If you have a grandchild that is graduating from Calvin this year, please
arrange to have them meet you at the Chapel. As soon as the class photo
is taken, we will be happy to take your photo with your graduating student.
12:15 p.m. Lunch - Chapel Undercroft
We'll retire to the basement of the Chapel to enjoy box lunches
before we walk to the Fieldhouse as a group for Commencement.
2:00 p.m. Commencement - Fieldhouse
At Commencement your class will be seated together and recognized
during the ceremony. A special seating area will be reserved for your
spouses.
