Calvin Reunions - Class of 1953

The 50-year reunion planning team has planned your reunion! Two days of fun, fellowship and reminiscing with your classmates will add to your many memories of Calvin.

Friday
12:30 p.m. - There will be a service project for interested class members on the Knollcrest East side of campus. You will be planting a garden area that will have a plaque from the Class of 1953. After you are finished planting you are invited for refreshments in Calvin's Crossing (the enclosed bridge which brings both sides of campus together).

4:30 p.m. - Come enjoy spring at Calvin with a tour of campus which will start at the chapel and will end at the beautiful new Prince Conference Center.

5:30 p.m. - In the Prince Conference Center Fireside Room, there will be a reception along with registration. What a great time to meet and greet your classmates!

7:00 p.m. - Enjoy a wonderful dinner in the Prince Conference Center Great Hall with greetings from the college and the alumni association and with meditation and prayer by classmate Dan Pastoor.

8:15 p.m. - The evening program will include reminiscing by classmates and a video directed by Edgar Boeve called "Who we are now."

Saturday
10:00 - 10:45 a.m. - Pick up your robes in the chapel to be worn for the chapel and medallion service and for the 2003 commencement ceremony. You may wear your own if you have one.

11:00 a.m. - Howard Slenk is bringing together the original Meistersingers, along with all the directors of the singers for a concert in the chapel called the "Repeat of the Original Meistersingers Concert." The concert will include many of your classmates along with other original singers who have agreed to come from here and afar.

11:30 a.m. - Enjoy a box lunch in the chapel undercroft before a busy afternoon.

12:30 p.m. - Gather in the chapel for final directions for the medallion ceremony.

1:00 p.m. - Chapel ceremony with speaker John Van Ryn.

1:30 p.m. - All class members will receive a medallion; graduates of the Class of 1953 will receive a 50-year medallion and other class members will receive a Heritage medallion.

2:00 p.m. - Class of 1953 picture to be taken on the De Wit Manor lawn.

2:30 p.m. - All class members and their spouses are invited to join the Class of 2003 for the commencement ceremony. There will be a shuttle bus to the Fieldhouse for the ceremony.

3:00 p.m. - 2003 Commencement Ceremony—After the ceremony, the bus will return class members and their spouses to the chapel where they return their robes.

This is a jam-packed two days of fellowship with classmates. Please plan to join us for Friday and Saturday, May 23-24, 2003!
