Stacy Schneider Martin '98 of Hickory, N.C., works as a volunteer speaking to churches and other groups to present the message of Compassion International—an organization that links sponsors in the United States with children overseas who need financial support. She also raises support for Compassion in local communities in North Carolina.
Aaron Hipple '97 earned his master of science in electrical engineering in April 2002 from Stanford University. He has completed a master of arts in music, science, and technology in June of 2000, also from Stanford. Jennifer Van Barneveld Hipple '98 is a charge nurse in labor and delivery at El Camino Hospital in Mountain View, Calif.
Calvin friends who shared a house on Mabeline their senior year of Calvin enjoyed a reunion in June of 2002. The men and their families met in Muskegon, Mich., traveling from such places as Florida, Pennsylvania, South Dakota and Toronto. These friends included Jen Bruins Viel '96, Matt Viel '96, Cathy Frank Alsum '97, Steve Alsum '96, Jeff Cooper '97, Stephanie Stob Cooper '96, Matthew Falk '97, Joanne Hoffman Broekhuizen '96, Keith Brockhuizen '96, Nathan Howe, Heather Howe, Jeff Terpstra '96, and Sean Purcell '96.
Steve Witvoet '95 has been accepted into the physical therapy program at the University of British Columbia. Steve has spent the last few years working as a Level II snowboard instructor, working at a bungee jumping bridge in Nepal, and traveling through SE Asia, New Zealand and Australia.
Christina deJong '91 is working for Global Learning Partners in Toronto, ON, as communications coordinator. GLP teaches how to teach adults and has partnered with such organizations as Habitat for Humanity and the Christian Reformed World Relief Committee. She has designed and implemented their website: www.globalearning.com.
John Lumkes '90 of Waukesha, Wis., was recently awarded the Falk Engineering Educator Award. John is a professor of engineering at Milwaukee School of Engineering, where he has taught since 1997. He holds a Ph.D. in mechanical engineering from the University of Wisconsin, a master's in mechanical engineering from University of Michigan, and a B.S. in mechanical engineering from Calvin. He is a registered professional engineer in Wisconsin.
Cindy Blount '93 is associate director for Cross-Cultural Programming for the Creation Care Study Program (a study abroad program) in Belize. Cindy is excited to build community partnerships between CCSP and the local Belize community.
Timothy B. Buursema '95 is a vice president of commercial lending in Mableton, Ga. His wife, Elizabeth Peake Buursema, graduated from Presbyterian College and is a publicist with Turner Broadcasting Station.
Chad Henri Van Iddekinge '96 received his doctoral degree from Clemson University's College of Business and Behavioral Science. His dissertation is titled, "Assessing Personality with a Structured Interview: The Effect of Faking and Question Type on Interviewer Ratings."
Eric White '95 completed his doctorate in molecular genetics at New Jersey University of Medicine and Dentistry. Eric is currently doing post-doctorate work at Yale. His wife, Susan, is a certified medical assistant in an oncology office in New Haven, Conn., where they live.
Jeffrey Timmer '96 received his Ph.D. in exercise physiology from the University of Pittsburgh last spring. He teaches exercise physiology at Keene State College in Keene, N.H.
