Jamie Van Randwyk '99 graduated from Purdue University last spring with a master's degree in computer science. He now works in research and development with the information security group at Sandia National Laboratories in Livermore, Calif. His wife, Lisa Nibbelink Van Randwyk '00, is a registered nurse in the Cardiac Monitoring Unit at Kaiser Permanente in Walnut Creek, Calif.
Kimberly Aay '95 has been appointed assistant vice president of Holy Cross Hospital on Chicago's southwest side.
David Porter '97 has joined the litigation practice at Varnum, Riddering, Schmidt and Howlett in Grand Rapids. He taught Western civilization at Grand Rapids Christian High School before attending the University of Michigan Law School.
Former Calvin Theatre Company members Nick Rogers and Sharon Vandezande, both '99, now work on the production staff of Geva Theatre in Rochester, N.Y.
Three Calvin alumni completed the HiTech Adventure Racing Series in Pittsburgh for the third time last October. Leslie Tanis Pott '89, Craig Tanis '91 and Brent O'Bryan '93 finished 26th out of 130 teams in the race, which combines kayaking, mountain biking and trail running with skills tests such as rope and wall climbing. Leslie, a director of advertising at J. Walter Thompson, was an All-American field hockey player at Calvin. Craig, a small business owner, was an All-American javelin thrower. Brent is director of human resources at AlliedSecurity.
Kevin Schaaf '97 has joined the corporate practice group at Grand Rapids' Varnum, Riddering, Schmidt and Howlett law firm. He graduated from the University of Michigan Law School and clerked at the Michigan Migrant Legal Assistance Project.
David Hoekstra '96 was named a Developing Sales Force Representative of the Year in 2001 for AXA Advisors' Great Lakes Region. He lives in Rockford, Mich.
Kris Ozar '99 is studying Swahili in Tanzania before becoming a lay missionary in Kenya. He credits his off-campus experiences at Calvin - an Outward Bound program in Costa Rica and a community development program at Daystar University in Nairobi - with pointing him toward missions.
Chad Van Iddekinge '96 earned his doctorate in industrial and organizational psychology in December from Clemson University, where he was named Outstanding Doctoral Student in Psychology and won several research awards. He now is a human resources consultant in Alexandria, Va.
Christopher Haven '98 was recently named an associate in the law firm of Larson, Harms & Bibeau in Farmington Hills, Mich.
Kelly VanderBerg Van Dahm '94 has co-authored a speech-language pathology handbook, Tracheostomy Tubes and Ventilator Dependence in Adults and Children. She lives in Tempe, Ariz., with her husband, Joel Van Dahm '93.
Scott Sikkenga '91 has been elected principal in the Kalamazoo, Mich. law firm of Miller, Canfield, Paddock and Stone. He also serves on the board for the Kalamazoo Christian School Association.
Doug Kuiper '91 is pastor of the Protestant Reformed Church of Randolph, Wis.
Matt Reimink '93 works for a start-up medical device company developing a treatment for abdominal aortic aneurysms. His wife, Lisa Spoelman Reimink '93, is a part-time personal trainer and weight management consultant. They live in New Brighton, Minn.
