CLASS NOTES:

Roger Gemmen '57 retired in 1999 after 30 years in general surgery. He now enjoys golf, sailing and skiing near his homes in Holland, Mich., and Naples, Fla.

Janice Meeter Quere '57 has retired from teaching math at Hempstead High School in Dubuque, Iowa, where she belongs to a book club with John and Terry Holtrop Hoekstra, both '51. Terry and Janice's friendship reaches back to childhood, when their fathers pastored churches simultaneously in the Cleveland, Ohio area and then in New Jersey.

John De Haan '57 works for the Association of Evangelical Relief and Development Organizations, which provides holistic ministry in Third World countries. John retired from the Christian Reformed World Relief Committee in 1998. He and his wife, Alice Verhage De Haan '54, live in Sierra Vista, Ariz.
