Gareth Kok '27 has established a $1,000 scholarship given annually to a graduate of Valley Christian High School (Cerritos, Calif.) who will attend Calvin. The Rev. and Mrs. Gareth Kok Calvin Scholarship is also named in honor of his second wife, Ada Van Zee Kok '32, who passed away last February. Nine of Gareth's ten children attended Calvin. The scholarship's first recipient was Melanie Flietstra, now a freshman studying education. Harry Leippe '51 has retired after 35 years of teaching sculpture at the University of California-Berkeley and at New Mexico Highlands University in Las Vegas, N.M.
