You’re invited to participate in the annual Martin Luther King Jr. Day events, taking place on Monday January 20, 2014. Below is a list of activities taking place on that day. We look forward to seeing you on Monday!

10:00 AM -Chapel Service: (Meet us in the Spoelhof Center Lobby between 9:30-9:45 a.m.)

Event Overview: Rev. Mika Edmondson-“Martin Luther King Jr. and the Theology of Suffering”

Location: Chapel

10:45 AM -MLK Day Brunch:

Event Overview: Calvin College Honors Living Legends and Rising Pillars of the Grand Rapids Community  

Location: Chapel Undercroft/Alumni Board Room

12:30 PM- January Series

Event Overview: Dr. John Perkins-“Love is the Final Fight”

Location: CFAC Auditorium

2:00 PM- Conversations with Living Legends and Rising Pillars

Event Overview: Members of the Calvin Community are invited to talk with the Living Legends and Rising Pillars of the Grand Rapids Community

Location: CFAC Student Lounge 251A

3:00 PM- MLK Day Commemorative March

Event Overview: Members of the Calvin community are invited to march around campus in memory of Dr. King along with Living Legends, Rising Pillars and various student organizations

Location: March will start in the CFAC lobby

3:30 PM- MLK Day Refreshments and Conversations

Event Overview: Following the march enjoy warm refreshments and great conversation with other march participants

Location: Spoelhof Center Atrium
